Applications > Protein Production
Production of proteins is required for a variety of drug discovery and cell therapy activities including clinical trials, biotherapeutic antibody and recombinant protein manufacturing, vaccine, viral vector and virus-like particle (VLPs) production, as well as purified proteins for use in biochemical screening and profiling. Transient transfection using MaxCyte scalable electroporation has become a practical solution to the time, labor and cost challenges faced when relying exclusively on stable cell lines. The MaxCyte Scalable Transfection Systems can produce proteins faster than stable cell lines, from both adherent and suspension cell types. Additionally, MaxCyte transfection uses a sterile, contained system, and is compatible with both bench scale and cGMP processing.
MaxCyte Electroporation for Protein Production:
- Compatible with commonly used cells such as CHO cells
- Fully scalable, able to transfect up to 1x1010 cells in < 30 minutes
- Protocols optimized for protein production
- Sustained expression of secreted, membrane-associated or cytoplasmic proteins
- Decreased reliance on stable cell lines
