Job Summary:

Responsible for the daily execution of all aspects of business development processes and activities. Leads internal and external business projects supporting corporate revenue generation objectives. Creates deal flow; prioritizes and closes outlicensing opportunities with prospective partners. Handles multiple aspects of transactions to include early stage through late stage negotiations and closure. Represents external opportunities and recommends appropriate strategy and tactics to senior management team.

Job Duties:

The overall objective for this position is to assist in the generation of revenue and building of value for the Company through development of strategic partnerships and technology licensing agreements in the US and internationally. The individual will have responsibility for managing all business processes, interactions and activities associated with developing partnering relationships leading to signing of agreements and the ongoing management of these business relationships. Specifically, the key tasks that the individual will be directly responsible for include:

  • Proactively managing partner projects / programs, including organizing, tracking, documenting and reporting on the status of all prospects in the business development pipeline and creating general and customized reports, as required.
  • Developing proposals, presentations and term sheets for business prospects based on identifying an appropriate strategic fit with the prospective partner, and positioning the messaging and proposals accordingly.
  • Participating in contract negotiations and managing the daily aspects of partner relationships with appropriate input from internal departments.
  • In specific instances, negotiating deals as lead person; handling transaction mechanics ranging from simple to complex deals.
  • Leading efforts focused on identification of new business development opportunities in Asia.
  • Developing strategic assessments of business markets, technology applications and potential partnership targets for existing programs.
  • Conducting research and analysis of business opportunities. Assessing strategic and financial value of potential markets to make recommendations for new projects
  • Helping develop and execute the Company's strategic selling, marketing, distribution, and partnering plans, including development of appropriate marketing collateral to support these efforts.
  • Working cooperatively with all functional departments of the company to ensure that all possible company knowledge and capabilities are utilized during partnership discussions and drives forward technical discussions as they relate to accomplishing the business goals.
  • Negotiating relationships with consultants and collaborators as needed
  • Presenting to both technical/science and business audiences in corporate and public forums.
  • Complying with all applicable policies regarding Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance and Information Protection, as well as compliance with all MaxCyte Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes.

Job Qualifications:

  • MS in business, life sciences, or related area and a minimum of 7-10 years of balanced, progressive experience in business and strategic planning & development, strategic selling, marketing, and partnerships in the life sciences industry; or equivalent
  • Proven biotechnology outlicensing record, including ability in generating and evaluating new business prospects, building solid business relationships, and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Possesses a strong network of drug development industry contacts and demonstrated history of creating a compelling argument for partnering opportunities with companies with novel technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cell and molecular biology, with clear understanding of the drug development process.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to build business development & commercialization plans for emerging businesses markets and communicate to a wide audience.
  • Must possess a flexible business style and passionate commitment to exceeding expectations and flawless execution
  • Background in the bioscience technology industry is critical. Experience in a mix of the life sciences, bio/pharmaceutical, and/or drug development preferred.
  • Understanding of cell and gene therapy markets is necessary.
  • Ability to travel ~ 30%, including domestic and international travel

Job Title: Research Associate For Platelet Work

Job Summary:

A Research Associate for Platelet Work is responsible for research and development as part of team working on cell loading technologies with applications that include drug delivery and cell therapy. Responsible for developing and following good laboratory practices, standard operating procedures, and quality assurance. Performs moderate to complex laboratory procedures, especially those involving handling and testing platelets. Performs data analyses including statistical interpretation of results to ensure timely completion of the company's scientific objectives. Works cooperatively and effectively either independently or in a project team under general supervision. Has responsibility for general maintenance and upkeep of R&D laboratory, including administrative laboratory related activities.

Job Duties:

  • Performs laboratory manipulations with platelets - these include washing, routine functional assays, microscopy and flow cytometric analyses.
  • Performs cell culture, transfection, transduction, molecular biology, protein analysis
  • Provides input on the design of experimental protocols.
  • Works cooperatively and effectively with others both within and between departments.
  • Prepares research summaries and provides input on interpretation of experimental results.
  • Troubleshoots general technical problems.
  • Maintains accurate and complete lab notebook.
  • Uses scientific literature to keep aware of current technologies.
  • Attends and presents results at departmental meetings and may present at company meetings. May attend professional meetings.
  • May order lab supplies, keep inventory and provide maintenance on lab equipment.
  • May perform Quality Control analyses including, but not limited to, conducting routine analysis and data compilation on reagents, test procedures and standard operating procedures to check for deviation and compliance.
  • Complies with all applicable policies regarding health, safety and environmental policies.

Job Qualifications:

  • M.S in biological sciences or a related field and at least 2-5 years or more of laboratory experience, at least some of which involved with platelet work; or equivalent. B.S. in biological sciences or related field and at least 5-10 years or more of laboratory experience at least some of which involved with platelet work; or equivalent.
  • Strong technical skills, especially with platelets, but also including cell and molecular biology, immunoassays, mammalian cell culture.
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills.
  • Strong PC skills

We need an experienced instrument sales specialist! MaxCyte is introducing the ITF Inline Transfection System, a validated platform for preparative transfection using flow electroporation. The system enables rapid and efficient transfection of any kind of cell or cell line, with any molecule (plasmids, proteins, protein complexes, drugs, mRNA, siRNA), at any scale. Transient transfection using lipids or virus is increasingly replacing the creation of stable cell lines using recombinant work and cloning. Our new system offers a large number of advantages to currently available transfection technologies.

Your customers will work in pharmaceutical and life science research and discovery. They are cell biologists, molecular biologists, etc. who transfect cells on a preparative scale for cell-based assays.

The Senior Instrument Sales Specialist manages current business and identifies, pursues and closes new opportunities. Responsibilities include direct sales of the company's ITF Inline Transfection System in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic drug screening and drug discovery research sectors.

Successful candidate should have a BS in Life Science or a related area and a minimum of five (5) years successful sales experience in instrumentation or services. Must have technical proficiency in cell and molecular biology. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently to market a powerful technology to a developing market. Knowledge of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and/or industrial bioprocessing sectors required.
